Academy Award Rules for 2024 Make Richard Dreyfuss “Vomit”

The Academy Awards have ridiculous diversity rules for 2024 that will kill creativity. The rules were announced three years ago. Maybe it didn’t sound as bad then because people are only now reacting.

“Starting with the March 2024 awards, movies will not be considered for a Best Picture nomination unless they feature a lead or significant supporting character from an “underrepresented racial or ethnic group,” have a main storyline that focuses on an underrepresented group, or at least 30% of the cast comes from two or more underrepresented groups (women, ethnic minorities, LGBTQ or the disabled),” reports NY Post.

“It’s completely ridiculous,” one director fumed to The Post. “I’m for diversity, but to make you cast certain types of people if you want to get nominated? That makes the whole process contrived. The person who is right for the part should get the part. Why should you be limited in your choices? But it’s the world we’re in. This is crazy.”

The diversity and inclusion rules will limit the types of films that can be made. Forget about most American heroes.

They should come up with a new vehicle other than the Oscars. This is just destructive.

Actor Richard Dreyfuss has expressed his disapproval of the Academy Awards’ new diversity guidelines, stating that such rules “make me vomit” during a recent interview on the PBS series “Firing Line.

  1. Imagine being characterized as someone in a “diverse” category (and it is ALWAYS the LEFT that does the categorizing, because they are THE quintessential racists and divisionists), and knowing that the ONLY reason you got “the part” is because you’re filling a quota. But so many of them are already so completely enslaved to the idea that they’re OWED this sort of treatment, well … I guess they won’t feel the embarrassment. After all, this is nothing new. Affirmative action has been the deciding factor in university enrollment, job placements, and so on, for a good long time. It’s just gone hypersonic, that’s all.

And the rest of us? We’re just the useful idiots who fund all this crap with our tax dollars.

  2. Didn’t Disney try these tactics in their latest movies, only to have them flop at the box office? Hasn’t the Academy been losing their audience for years? Go woke, go broke.

  3. The shrinking audience for the awards like just shrunk by a whole lot (maybe by the whole lot – chuckle.)
I wonder if they will limit sponsorship/advertising to only companies who follow the same rules! (Of course no one else may want to sponsor this mess.)
