Iran and China Follies
Iran menaces merchant ships, and Chinese planes and warships threaten US military planes and ships.
Iran Menaces Merchant Ships
British and US Navy vessels scrambled to assist a merchant vessel harassed by Iranian fast-attack boats in the Strait of Hormuz yesterday.
The HMS Lancaster and USS McFaul scrambled to intercept the Iranian fast-boats crewed by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.
The US Navy’s guided-missile destroyer USS McFaul and the Royal Navy’s frigate HMS Lancaster responded to the incident. The Lancaster launched a helicopter to dissuade the Iranian boats from attempting to board the commercial ship.
The boats took off.
Chinese Warship Comes Within Yards of a US Naval Destroyer
A Chinese warship came within yards of a US Naval destroyer in the Taiwan Strait. This is how things go under Joe Biden. We invite the world’s tyrants to become more tyrannical when no one watches the store. I still say there is no way Democrats are serious about rerunning Biden. They have something in store.
Reuters:
The encounter comes as both countries trade blame for not holding military talks – with disagreements between the two over everything from trade and Taiwan to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – and raises the spectre of future face-offs that could spiral out of control.
The U.S. military said the USS Chung-Hoon, a destroyer, and Canada’s HSMC Montreal, a frigate, were conducting a “routine” transit of the strait on Saturday when the Chinese ship cut in front of the U.S. vessel, coming within 150 yards (137 metres).
Before This, A Plane Conducted a Dangerous Maneuver
A Chinese fighter jet carried out an ‘unnecessarily aggressive’ maneuver near a US military plane over the South China Sea — “in international airspace” — according to the US #Taiwan pic.twitter.com/Pgm97bdJu9

‘Aggressive’ is how US officials describe a Chinese fighter jet’s move past a US surveillance plane over the South #China Sea. Intercepts like this aren’t uncommon (I was on board for one) but video of this close encounter shows a maneuver known as ‘thumping’. @TODAYshow @NBCNews pic.twitter.com/Zu79yyYaIf

China is watching very closely what the USA is doing about Russia in Ukraine…
they are taking notes about what to do, what not to do…
as the USA is sending tens of Billions of $ to Ukraine, China are waiting for the USA to show signs of fatigue ( for lack of a better word ) , financial fatigue or other type of fatigue, and then they will take Taiwan or take whatever else they want.
They may even have been planning all this with Russia, colluding with them…and since the US military has now been infected by woke leftism and now cares more about trans people than about anything else, this is the best time for the two powerful nations to execute such a plan.
As the USA falls, belligerence begins against us. We made it worse, by creating a war in Ukraine. The USA is weak, corrupt, and self-destructive. That does not encourage respect.
The news never mentions that we are playing in their waters. Imagine a Chinese destroyer sailing in the Gulf of Mexico thumbing their noses at an American destroyer? Our leaders would have a fit. Maybe our ships should raise the Rainbow flag.
The Taiwan Straight is international so it is not their waters. Taiwan is an independent nation which was formed slightly before the PRC was. If we cannot go in the Straight then we are not gong to be able to protect Taiwan.
I think we have frequent incursions of Russian and Chinese ships near or in out waters. As China grows its navy, it will happen more. Taiwan is in bad shape if they need our corrupt and woke USA to protect it, especially with Chinese agents running the USA.
We would not be happy with Chinese destroyers cruising around the Gulf of Mexico. We are not entitled to do as we please around the world. Are you ready to sign up to defend Taiwan or do you prefer to leave that to others.
The US maintains the “One China policy” which acknowledges that Taiwan is not an independent nation, and very few recognize it as such. The UN certainly doesn’t recognize it. Then the question is why such involvement by the US and the West. Since Taiwan’s trade is primarily with China then any separation would hurt that country the most. The status quo had been working for decades but self-serving politicians are attempting to create a threat that didn’t exist.
As of April, 13 countries—Belize, Haiti, Vatican City, Honduras, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Tuvalu and Guatemala—recognize Taiwan as an independent country, according to World Population Review.
