OPINION
Update: Since we wrote this, people have said Chick-fil-a is adopting a DEI agenda. We know they hired a DEI officer – that isn’t good. We aren’t looking to boycott anyone, but they do need watching. All ESG leftist agendas need to go. They rob us of our freedom. We’ll keep our eye on Chick-fil-A.
We do admire religious people and their caring for others. However, committing to Marxist DEI is a bridge too far.
Original Story
In 2020, Chick-Fil-A CEO Dan Cathy shined the shoes of a black musician. It was right after the George Floyd riots, and Mr. Cathy is very religious and people-centered.
The video of him doing shining the man’s shoes has been resuscitated and is circulating with a call to boycott Chick-fil-A. While the video and the action are cringeworthy, it’s old, and it’s not to promote the weird sexualization of children.
I included it below and did report on it negatively in 2020. However, that was then, and this is now. It does not apply to what Target and Bud Light are doing.
Conservatives led on the organic boycott of Target and Bud Light because they are harming children and women. The LA Dodgers probably fall into the same category. However, Mr. Cathy has the right to feel the way he does. His view is he is a servant of God. Mr. Cathy does no harm, and boycotting him makes conservatives look bad.
He doesn’t promote crazy gender ideology, indoctrination, and the castration or any mutilation of children.
We need to pick our battles. Overkill will kill us. We don’t want to be ignored.
This clip is now an anachronism.

But … have you read through their “Commitment to DEI” statement? If these are their new ethics, why would we eat at a Chick-Fil-A? Here, copied and pasted, is its closing paragraph:
Chick-fil-A, Inc.’s commitment to EEO, Non-Harassment, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Chick-fil-A, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity, equity and inclusion. We make employment decisions on a non-discriminatory basis and remain committed to maintaining work environments free from any form of harassment.
It has been and shall continue to be our policy that we do not discriminate in employment decisions or tolerate any form of harassment based upon sex, race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, pregnancy, age, physical and mental disability, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, military and veteran status and/or any other status, classification, or factor protected by federal, state, or local law.

Jesus was not just groping around for a pithy statement when He said, “No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24

I personally believe it is a mistake to blame corporations and CEO’s for Wokeism. The problem is that in a collectivist Corporatist System staying in-line with bureaucrats who hold the power over the regulatory state is a key to protecting your corporate interests.
The Obama/Biden (Alinsky) concept is that all government is a tool used to push your ideology.
We have a DOJ that can open Civil Rights investigations that are open-ended whenever it wants under any phony pretext. Do that and your litigation costs on your balance sheet become a big red question mark. We have Trillions of dollars in Corporate Welfare being distributed to the selected businesses that follow the agenda of the administration. We have regulatory bureaucracies that can favor you or deny based upon whatever rules they chose.
When Social Credit Scoring is a concept being pushed onto individual citizens, remember first it has been pushed on to corporate citizens.
The real enemy is the leftist state that is using its power to push its Utopian anti-religious anti-family anti-nation world view onto America.
Corporations/businesses have a moral obligation to fight back. If they choose to become corrupted by supporting WOKEISM, they need to face the consequences of going under!
WAKEUP & boycott evil!
“Mr. Cathy does no harm, and boycotting him makes conservatives look bad.”
If everyone is to be equal, then no one should feel obligated to bow down & kiss another person’s foot, or shine their shoes.
The elder CEO, Dan Cathy, is deceased; according to what I’ve heard, his company has been replaced by WOKEISM. The new call/reasons to boycott Chick-fil-A can be seen on The Benny Show and The Liz Wheeler Show (YouTube).
If Chick-fil-A has gone woke, I’ll boycott. Christians don’t have to walk in lockstep with the leftists’ evil agenda, and conservatives don’t have to agree on everything.
He said ; all whites should get on their knees and shine black people s shoes………but I was not around when blacks were slaves or had to sit in the back of the bus……… I have personally never mistreated a black person……..why would I get on my knees? I did nothing wrong to black people.
and now they are into DEI or Diversity, Equity and Inclusion ?
no one should be hired for the color of their skin, for their gender or for their sexual orientation, they should be hired because they are qualified and competent.
The Biden administration hired people for DEI reasons and look at all those incompetent clowns destroying the nation !
equity means everyone gets the same result, that is wrong, very wrong, everyone can have the same opportunity but they cannot have all the same results…
that is like giving trophies to kids who did not even play in the game while the kid who worked really hard and scored several goals gets the same lame trophy as those who contributed nothing…it may look like it makes everything equal but it accomplishes the exact opposite; it over rewards those who did close to nothing and it punishes those who worked hard and have merit and abilities
I m totally against artificially imposed Equity
Maybe a boycott of that restaurant chain is going too far but I totally disagree with DEI and anything pushed by the woke left that makes no sense and in fact causes more injustices than it fights injustices.
I like Chick-Fil-A, but CEO Dan Cathy went too far. Fire him or I will be eating at KFC! You can’t Allow WOKE at all. That’s like being a little pregnant!
A little yeast spoils the whole batch . .
