Mike Pence Doesn’t Seem to Know If He’s a MAGA Republican

During a Meet the Press interview on Sunday, he promised to clean the whole top floor of the Justice Department if elected president. He’s not convincing very many people. His poll numbers are abysmal.

Some of his answers turn people off. For example, Mike Pence knows the situation with David Weiss, the US Attorney who refused to move on a Hunter Biden indictment in Delaware. Weiss waited until the statute of limitations passed on the more serious counts and then offered him a sweetheart deal on the more minor counts. Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Weiss special counsel in the Hunter Biden case. The arrangement appears very corrupt. So what does Mike Pence say?

“I am hopeful that special counsel Weiss will do his job without fear or favor,” he said, “but I have confidence that [Rep.] Jim Jordan, Congressman [James] Comer. and others will continue to do their job for the American people,” Pence said, referring to the chairs of Republican-led House committees that have been investigating the federal probe into Hunter Biden.

Mike Pence has a remarkable ability to say nothing and commit to nothing.

Is He a MAGA Republican?

Asked whether he considers himself a “MAGA Republican” on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Pence said he’s “incredibly proud of what we did in the Trump-Pence administration for four years.” He said the duo, “with the support of MAGA Americans,” did “make America great again,” while criticizing former President Barack Obama and then-Vice President Joe Biden for their eight years in office.

“Look, I’m a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican in that order,” Pence added.

About The Electors

During the segment, host Chuck Todd inquired as to why Mike Pence “asked the Senate parliamentarian whether there were any other electors to consider during the process of Congress certifying the 2020 election,” and he couldn’t remember.

“I did ask the parliamentarian very directly, Chuck. I asked her because I was hearing rumors. I was reading in the newspaper that there were alternate electors. I just — I asked her point-blank,” Pence said in a quote from The Hill. When asked if anyone in Trump’s White House was informing him of this, he said, “I asked her if there were any other electors from any state, and she said there was not. I don’t recall that; I just remember hearing it in the public.

“And I wanted a definitive answer whether or not the parliamentarian had received any additional electoral votes. She had not. So as you know, I, we actually changed the language as those Electoral College votes were recorded.”

“I have no right to overturn the election. The constitution is quite clear. As vice president, my job was to preside over a joint session of Congress, where the Constitution says the Electoral College votes shall be opened and shall be counted, and I know by God’s grace I did my duty that day.”

  1. Mike Pence has a remarkable ability to say nothing and commit to nothing.

THIS says it all. He proved it over and over again while VP. It was on full display during a Covid briefing when asked a question. He kept trying to give a “non-answer” and it was obvious Trump was getting sick of it and stepped up and directly answered the question. I rather suspected that is why Trump wasn’t part of the Covid briefings thereafter. Be cognizant of when Trump heaps praise on a person. It isn’t always what it seems.

  2. Pence says he is a “Christian, a conservative, and a Republican in that order,” but I see no evidence of his being any of those. If he were, none of those things he has said would have come out of his mouth. He has not lived up to any of it.

  3. Pence appears on leftist TV to campaign for the globalist elitist vote. These networks have him on only because he is anti-Trump.

  4. I am not supporting Pence. However to answer the question posed n the article What does that mean? I offer the following.
    1) He lives by he Bible as his life guide. He would probably ask before a major decision-WWJD (What would Jesus Do?)
    2) He proudly calls himself a conservative because those that live by Biblical Principles, as he understand them, are called conservatives.
    3) He understands that today we have essentially a two-party system, so because the Republican Party puts forth many of the ideals he believes while the Democrats oppose them, he is a Republican.

    • Yes, and I consider myself in that order also. However, I consider him fake, and or a coward. What Trump asked him to do wasn’t unconstitutional. As a fellow Hoosier (he was my congressman), he’s an embarrassment.

  5. Pence is phony as a three dollar bill. The only way he would have a chance to be elected to any public office is become a Democrat!

    • I will not support Pence for future service public office.
But I must note the man consistently follows his conscience. He is who he is and definitely is not a phoney.
Disagree with his values, don’t denigrate the man.

      • Anyone with a conscience would have suggested a “time out” on J6 to uncover a very obvious and suspicious election.

        • Ronald I almost agree as at your opinion sounds reasonable. The problem is you started with a false premise; that what your conscience tells you is what Pence’s conscience told him.

He could have carefully followed his conscience since his belief system does not exactly not match yours.

Disagree with his beliefs, but don’t suggest he has no conscience or does not follow it.

If you support the 2nd amendment in the way I do, the left says we have no conscience for we will let so many innocents be slaughtered.

      • He is a phony conservative! He can’t even tell the truth but like most politicians he wants to represent the people with conservatism while running for office then when they are elected they don’t represent as a conservative. That’s very phony. Which Bible do you use Peter?
